The Cinemarola
Summer 2006. An old microcar for the handicapped was transformed into the smallest self-supporting projection cabine on earth. This gives the possibility to give our movie-shows at the strangest locations.
The Cinemarola delivers the 230 volts for the projector, for hours and hours.
The first show was in the Vondelpark in Amsterdam, and a big succes!
The Cinemarola transported the necessary equipment and the projection screen, two garden torches for the ambient light, and visitors brought there own cushions and drinks.
DJ Gaap played his old 78RPM Phonograph which much added to the ambience.
It was picked up by nationwide newspapers at once: an article with photo of the whole scene in 'Het Parool' the next day, and an interview of almost a full page in the 'NRC-NEXT' a few weeks later. In the meantime our unique projection machine has featured on 'Hessies Junkyard Party', and especially on Queensday, april 30, 2007, while we were doing a performance for the whole day in the centre of Amsterdam. In a BIG tent, including a bar and a photo-machine. And the summer has still to begin! < |
